• Disappointment With God

Is God unfair? Is God silent? Is God hidden?

Almost 20 years ago, Philip Yancey asked these questions. Today they remain at the heart of every struggling Christian’s unvoiced doubts.

In a world where there is a disparity between our concept of God and the realities of life, Disappointment with God brings us face to face with our disillusionments—and takes us beyond to a deeper faith. Renew your spirit and develop a thirst to reach not just for what God gives, but for who He is.

About the Author:

Philip Yancey has worked for 10 years as an Editor and then Publisher for Campus Life magazine. There he learned journalistic skills (there's no tougher audience than teenagers), but every year it seemed he wrote fewer and fewer words. In 1980 he and his wife Janet moved to downtown Chicago where he began a career as a freelance writer. They lived there until 1992, when they moved to the foothills of Colorado. He's written around 20 books. Three of them he coauthored with Dr. Paul Brand, who influenced him more than any single person. His favorites are "Soul Survivor" and "Reaching for the Invisible God" because both of them forced him to dig deep and get personal. He calls himself  a pilgrim, still "in recovery" from a bad church upbringing, searching for a faith that makes its followers larger and not smaller.
